Are Vegan Body Washes Good?
One of the common reasons why many people find it difficult to switch to a vegan way of living is that the products don’t work for them or aren’t high quality.
But, vegan body washes can be just as good as nonvegan options. You have to find one that suits your needs.
Our skin types are also critical when choosing a vegan, cruelty-free body wash. You’ll have to choose body washes that complement your skin. For example, you could have sensitive skin, extra dry skin, and other skin types.
As we always say, looking for the best vegan body wash for you will be a trial and error process. Don’t expect the first one you try to perfect for you (though it might!).
Are All Cruelty-Free Body Washes Vegan?
Nope, not always.
There’s a bit of confusion surrounding the terms cruelty-free and vegan. Many of us assume that just because a certain product is cruelty-free, that means it’s also vegan. However, there are instances when that isn’t the case.
Some products that claim to be cruelty-free may have animal-derived ingredients. A great example of this is beeswax.
The term cruelty-free means no animal testing at all. So as long as a product has not been tested on animals, it can be labeled cruelty-free.
But, some people may not agree with this. It is arguable whether products that contain beeswax or any other animal-derived component can truly be cruelty-free when animals were used in the process. Ultimately, the choice boils down to you and what you choose to buy.
But know that when you see the label cruelty-free, it isn’t synonymous with vegan no matter how interchangeable the two words seem to be.
The other way around is true as well. Some vegan brands are not cruelty-free. It’s debatable whether you’d consider these brands vegan, but some companies don’t use animal products (hence, vegan) but test on animals.
These companies are often those who sell in mainland China where the law is required to be tested on animals.
For the best guarantee, look for products that are both vegan and cruelty-free.
We hope you enjoyed this list of cruelty-free AND vegan body washes! Looking for the perfect skin and body care products can take a bit of effort, but finding the right one is worth your trouble.
It’s even better when you buy it from a brand that aligns with your personal philosophies and beliefs. And while that is an extra challenge, you’ve got this list to get you started.
